Current Event

Created by the team behind Australia’s #1 independent publication for women, YEN Magazine, the YWYAs recognise and support talented, dedicated and inspiring young women 35 years and under who are pushing boundaries and setting standards in Australia and around the world.
The YWYAs were created to acknowledge and support the achievements of women 35 years and under who are doing amazing things across various fields – including film, fashion, sport, music, journalism, business and the community, among others.
These women of the new guard are paving the way for other young women around Australia to realise their dreams and make a difference. Winners at the inaugural event have gone on to become big Aussie names – including Torah Bright, Abbie Cornish and Patience Hodgson of the Grates.
> Check out the latest YWYA TV ad currently running on TEN & MTV - featuring 'Aww Yeah' - the latest single by our favourite Aussie band The Grates, fronted by YWYA ambassador Patience Hodgson.
2008 sees some exciting developments to the YWYAs and we’re set to uncover and recognise some equally big talent. This year we have three incredible women to lead our ambassador charge; Miranda Kerr, Torah Bright and Rose Byrne, and have introduced two new award categories – Journalism & Photography.
In addition to unveiling the overall Young Woman of the Year, ten major industry category awards will be presented, as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award - at a unique event on Tuesday November 25th, complete with live music and special guests. The YEN Young Woman of the Year Awards are an exciting and uplifting way to celebrate Australia’s amazing young women, so make sure you get involved!
